Junior secondary

​​​​Yea​r 7 and 8 Subject Selection

​​​Years 7 and 8 provides students with a set of core skills and learning frameworks to act as both a foundation for, and pathway into, their future studies. ​

Each year all students will study:

• ​English
  
• Health and Physical Education
  
• Humanities
• Languages (French, German or Japanese)​
• Mathematics​
  
• ​Science
  
• Wavell Develop Program (WDP)
  

Each semester, students will undertake two electives​ in​:

• Technologies (Business and Information Technologies, Design and Technologies, Home Economics)
  
• ​​The Arts (Dance, Drama, Media, Music, Visual Art)

Year 9 and 10 Subject Selection

Years 9 and 10 provide students with opportunities to develop their knowledge of core subjects while also pursuing studies in areas of particular interest. The Junior Curriculum Guide includes detailed information for subjects offered across these two years.

​In Year 9, students will study eight subjects, including three elective subjects. In Year 10, students will study six subjects, including two elective subjects.
