Year 7 and 8 Subject Selection
Years 7 and 8 provides students with a set of core skills and learning frameworks to act as both a foundation for, and pathway into, their future studies.
Each year all students will study:
- English
- Health and Physical Education
- Humanities
- Languages (French, German or Japanese)
- Mathematics
- Science
- Wavell Access Program (ACX)
Each semester, students will undertake two electives in:
- Technologies (Business and Information Technologies, Design and Technologies, Home Economics)
- The Arts (Dance, Drama, Media, Music, Visual Art)

Year 9 and 10 Subject Selection
Years 9 and 10 provide students with opportunities to develop their knowledge of core subjects while also pursuing studies in areas of particular interest. The Junior Curriculum Guide includes detailed information for subjects offered across these two years.
In Year 9, students will study six subjects, including four elective subjects. In Year 10, students will study six subjects, including three elective subjects.
The compulsory core subjects are:
- English
- Humanities*
- Mathematics
- Science
- Wavell Access Program (ACX)
Students will select electives from the following:
- Languages - French, German, Japanese
- Technologies - Business Studies, Design, Digital Technologies, Engineering, Food & Textiles Technology, Food Specialisations, Industrial Trade Skills
- The Arts - Dance, Drama, Media Arts, Music, Visual Arts
