Wavell State High School is an independent school with an Enrolment Management Plan. Students are considered for enrolment at Wavell on the following basis:
- Local Catchment - their principal place of residence is within the defined Queensland Government edMap.
- Out of Catchment - their principal place of residence is outside of the local catchment area however, they would like to be considered for enrolment.
- Programs of Excellence – Academic, Dance, Drama, Music, Netball and Rugby League.
- Scholarships - Academic, Performing Arts and Sporting.
Wavell State High School charges an out of catchment processing fee of $55.00(inc.GST) for all students who do not reside in our local catchment area. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable and must be paid by electronic funds transfer prior to submitting your Expression of Interest to enrol.
How to apply for enrolment at Wavell
Complete Expression of Interest and supply all supporting documents by email enrolment@wavellshs.eq.edu.au to the Enrolment Officer. Please include processing fee payment receipt, with EOI if applicable.
Please note that Expression of Interest reviews may take up to 10 business days. Correspondence will be sent by email from the Enrolment Officer once your EOI has been reviewed (please check your spam/junk folder).
If your student is invited to apply for enrolment you will receive an enrolment pack to complete and return prior to your confirmation of enrolment interview – these interviews are held one afternoon per term for Year 7 2026 and are an essential part of the enrolment process.
Year 7 2026 Enrolments
We are now accepting Expressions of Interest for 2026. After you submit your EOI, we will confirm receipt by email. Your application will be reviewed during Term 1 2025, once we receive your student's Year 5, Semester 2 report. Enrolment Interviews for successful applicants will begin in Term 1 of 2025.
