Wavell State High School operates under an Enrolment Management Plan. Students are considered for enrolment based on the following categories:
- Local Catchment - Students whose principal place of residence is within our designated catchment area, as defined by the Queensland Government edMap.
- Out of Catchment - Students who live outside our catchment area may be considered for enrolment. A non-refundable, non-transferable processing fee applies to these applications:
- Programs of Excellence – Wavell offers specialist programs in Academic, Dance, Drama, Music, Netball and Rugby League. Entry is based on application and/or audition.
- Scholarships (Year 7 Future Enrolments) - Available
in Academic Honours, Performing Arts, and Sport, recognising outstanding
achievement and potential.

| Expressions of Interest may still be submitted for the current school year.

| Expressions of Interest will open in August 2025.

Year 7 – 2027
| Expressions of Interest are open now. Applicants will be reviewed in Term 1, 2026, once the Year 5 Semester 2 report is received. Enrolment interviews will commence for successful enrolments in Term 1, 2026.

Year 7 – 2028
| Expressions of Interest will open in 2026.
