Aims/Policies
· To provide students and staff with adequate current and relevant resources and services to support the school's curriculum. · To develop students' independent research techniques and to provide them with information skills that will enable them to be lifelong learners. · To ensure maximum access to resources and services by students and staff. · To maintain a book collection that will enhance students' love and enjoyment of reading. · To provide a safe and pleasant environment for both students and staff.
Library Services
· Six Alice Catalogue Search computers. · Other computers for student use for assignments and research · Assistance to students in the location and selection of resources. · Instruction to students on the research process. · Handout to students on various instructional topics: bibliographies, style handbooks. · Co-operative planning and teaching of assignments with teachers. · Management of resources during assignments: selection, freezing, overnight loans, bulk loans. · Compilation of subject bibliographies. · Book talks to students: introducing RAGE and assignment topics · Organizing resource and student work displays. · Lending and repair of AV equipment. · Laminating / photocopying / scanning services. · Assistance to students in the preparation of materials for assignments: OHTs. · AV services: off-air taping, video/DVD copying.
